I met Ebere a few years ago as she would come at least once a month with her husband Deji to patronize my grocery store in Oakland, California. A very beautiful and petite young lady but you can feel the power she possesses as she speaks in her very strong and steady voice. Each time she would visit, I would learn a little more about her and I became more and more intrigued with what she and her husband were up to. At the time Ebere was working as a scientist and finishing up a PH.D course at UC Berkeley and she was also pregnant with her second child. I learned that Ebere and her husband have a Christian music radio station called Truth FM and they plan on making it an international radio station with a hub in Nigeria. They were so passionate about the project and the non-profit aspects of what they wanted to do to make an impact in the impoverished areas of Nigeria and Africa.
Not long after our initial connection, I attended a different church for about a year and during that time, I ran into the Sonoiki family almost every Sunday. At this time their family had increased to 4 with the addition of their 2nd child.
We would chat and talk about various topics and every chance we met. I had been nursing the idea for many years of launching a spotlight show where I would feature interesting people of all works of life who I find inspiring and who I can learn something new from. I also hoped that my audience would share in my enthusiasm. I never planned on Ebere and her husband being my first guests, but that is exactly what happened. My first Queenkay Spotlight show with Ebere and her husband was taped about 2 years ago and so much has happened since then.
In this most recent and 3rd interview with Ebere, I am just as amazed in what she and her husband have built and are building. A year and a half ago, they launched True Living with Simpli Ebere, a morning Christian radio show which features various inspirational guests. On some episodes, she has co-hosts and sometimes, she goes solo but the message is always uplifting, inspiring and educational.
Here’s our most recent interview and boy is she power packed with purpose. Let me know what you think and write and share a comment so she can read it and respond to you.
I wanted to take you down memory lane a bit by watching our video last year when the morning show first launched. This was in October 2016
Then here’s our very first show with Ebere and her husband Deji talking about their radio station and their non-profit organization and their plans to make a difference. This was in October of 2015. At this time according to Ebere, they hadn’t even known that they would be taking the radio station to a morning show level. But God….
With each passing year, Ebere and Deji are doing awesome things in the name of God and humanity.
Here’s a link to their websites and radio station. You can download the app to listen live on your devices. You can also find out more about their non-profit and support if you want to .
